In our ever-changing environment, we are learning to be flexible and adapt to the changing tides. As one of my favorite teachers Michael Stone said, “There is no yoga without the conditions of life.”

This Sunday evening Yin class offers an intentional transition from the weekend to the “week-begin”, with a focus on the elements, the flow of Chi in the meridians of the body and mindfulness meditation. Yin postures are enjoyed for several minutes each, allowing time and space to connect the physical and mental experience of yoga.

Gentle yoga is the marriage or “yoking” of the breath, body and mind through intentional movement guided by the breath. If you like a movement-based class, the slow pace of this one is for you. You’ll have the time and space to notice how breath moves in your body and how breath is truly what initiates the movement.

Tuesday Yin is a way to make the transition from day to evening, matching the energy of this time of day. We move from the active “yang” portion of going and doing to the quieter, receptive, more “yin” evening time.
